Household Waste Recycling Centre

I wouldn't normally review a tip but it came up on my recent visited places so I thought I would. I've been a few times recently during the week and it's been a case of right in and right out. The layout isn't perfect as you can't queue on the left side and then end up queuing on the right as you watch people arriving going straight into the left spaces as they become available while you are still waiting. That said I've not had to wait too long put of peak hours. I also took my three year old who wasn't particularly entertained so not a place for a family day out. Update 2018 - it's no longer in and out and the queues can often be found all the way back to the roundabout. I believe the opening hours have shortened making it much busier. That said I've found the staff helpful and they've even helped empty my boot presumeably to keep things moving along. Still nothing of interest for the kids.

Having moved from Reading the Basingstoke site is far easier more pleasant to use than the r3e site in reading. waiting times are far less. There could be better management of the two parking areas. People attending have no idea if the second bays are occupied until they arrive at them, this leads to cars queueing at the first set. When the second set could be free.

Give and get free stuff. Here you will find lots of items that people are willing to give away, for FREE! This is instead of taking them to a local landfill site. The aim of this site is to reduce the amount of waste that goes to landfill (20.9 million tonnes of it last year in the UK) and recycling is great news for the environment.
We all know that we need to recycle more - and this is a great way of doing it.
