Walking, Hiking and Outdoor Shops

GO Outdoors Basingstoke

Reading Rd, Chineham, Basingstoke RG24 8TW, UK – 0344 387 6818

Great staff who were very helpful. Then as I was leaving it started chucking it down and was given and umbrella escort to my car. Great way to treat your customers. I didn’t get the ladies name but she had short blond hair.

Versatile sports shop with plenty of products to choose from. I mainly focused on the bicycle section when I was there, first time I was welcomed with an advice and guidance. My second visit required servicing and I've been informed you have to book to have your bike repaired, even for a 5-minute work. I'd still recommend it though, mostly for the variety of products, friendly and professional staff and plenty of parking space outside.

Trespass

22, Potters Walk, Basingstoke RG21 7BE, UK – 01256 479359

Good offers

Great camping store. Prices can be a little high, but they keep last seasons stock on display a lot longer than other places (on v good discounts). Staff are helpful, even for finding additional sale items. Thoroughly recommend for DoE/Scout Awards expedition clothing. Tents, would still go for Black's own brand.

The Range, Basingstoke

Gastons Wood Industrial Estate, Reading Rd, Basingstoke RG24 8TW, UK – 01256 359464

Went in here a couple of times. Great store with plenty of products. My only complaint is the customer service.... i have gone in multiple times and asked for a specific product. Instead of the staff physically showing me where it was located they told me to walk down there and i should see it...i never did

Love this shop. Come weekly to see What's new. Never leave empty handed. Store is slightly over crowed at the bank isle with stock in the middle. A double side by side buggy wouldn't fit for sure

WalkingWorld.jpg
Another good one. Walkingworld has huge library of guides with a good selection of walks, of varying lengths and grades, pretty well anywhere in the UK. The walks come in an excellent format making them very easy to follow, with photographs to illustrate every important decision point and a proper Ordnance Survey map.

A modist annual subscription gives you unlimited access to all the walks. However you can Pay As Go by downloading indiviual walks.

Crucially you can also find walks France, Spain, Norway, Portugal and Australia!
